Important Notice: Compass is a product developed by InfoSavvy. This service is not officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or sanctioned by Southern Methodist University (SMU). Compass is an independent tool designed to assist SMU students, but it is not an official university resource.

2. Description of Service

Compass is an AI-powered assistant designed to help SMU students navigate campus processes, policies, and opportunities. The Service provides information and recommendations based on publicly available data and AI-generated responses.

3. User Eligibility

You must be a current or prospective student with a valid SMU email address (ending in smu.edu) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 18 years old or have parental consent
  • You have a valid SMU email address
  • You will provide accurate and truthful information
  • You will not use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • 4. User Responsibilities

    You agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes
  • Provide accurate information when creating your account
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Not share your account with others
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or interfere with the Service
  • Not use the Service in a way that could harm InfoSavvy, other users, or SMU

    Compass uses artificial intelligence to generate responses. You acknowledge that:

  • AI responses may contain errors, inaccuracies, or incomplete information
  • AI responses should be verified with official SMU sources before making important decisions
  • InfoSavvy is not responsible for decisions made based solely on AI-generated content

    TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INFOSAVVY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

    You agree to indemnify and hold harmless InfoSavvy, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

    9. Termination

    InfoSavvy reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms.

    10. Changes to Terms

    InfoSavvy may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
